Let’s take an example. You are kicking off a project aimed at maximizing your fleet’s rotations.
First, you check the rotations volume, for onward and return trips. This gives you a global indication of your activity, but does not allow you to take any action whatsoever.
You decide to dig in and refine your understanding through a visualization of rotation data by flow. The thicker the line, the more rotations there are on this path. The redder the colour, the longer the rotation. You choose to focus on a thick, red flow, so that your actions have a visible impact.
On this particular flow, how do your wagons, trailers and specific packaging behave? This is what you will discover thanks to the utilization rate. You can also zoom in on unproductive times. For example, by clicking on the parking time at the station, the average time per station is displayed. You can then take action with the “bad students” to optimize your turnover rate.
