The evening conference opened with remarks from Dr Youness Lemrabet, CEO of Everysens, who emphasized the growing importance of artificial intelligence as a fully integrated component of managing rail operations. In the rail sector in particular, AI — supervised by human expertise — enables faster decision-making and more accurate forecasting, strengthening both operational efficiency and strategic planning.
In 2026, Everysens will prioritize real-time visibility, collaboration, and forecasting, leveraging AI and the extensive data captured through its TMS.
“Winners will be companies that integrate AI deeply into their processes and workflows, not as a shiny side experiment. And here is how we implement AI at Everysens. We unified data, processes, and collaboration into one single source of truth. Then focused on high-ROI AI use cases: Predictions, Recommendations, Simulations.” Dr Youness Lemrabet, CEO of Everysens.
Then a roundtable panel discussion was joined by leading figures from the rail industry: Carlos Vazquez (Vice President Global Purchasing & Supply Chain at Stellantis), Peter Reinshagen (Managing director at Ermewa), Antoine Ritz (Chief Operations Officer at Groupe CAT), Szilvi Kiss (Senior Research & Project manager at ECG) and Raphaël Doutrebente (President at Europorte).
The conversation underscored the industry’s need for greater collaboration, driven by the acceleration of digitalization. This shift brings numerous benefits: improved cost management, a positive impact on modal shift by increasing the rail share at the expense of road transport, and ultimately a significant reduction in CO₂ emissions.
To illustrate how this transformation plays out in practice, Rory Higgins, Rail Contracts Manager at Tarmac, shared the company’s experience. Tarmac, a CRH company, is the UK’s leading provider of sustainable building materials and construction solutions, with 80,000 employees, 4,000 operating locations, and a presence in 28 countries. With a clear focus on simplifying, connecting, and optimizing its operations, Tarmac deployed the full Everysens solution. Today, more than 100 users monitor over 120 trains each week, and the results speak for themselves: cancelled rail transports dropped from 4.5% to 2.3%, while collaboration levels increased from 59% to 65%. However, Rory Higgins stressed the importance of a comprehensive change management strategy to ensure strong adoption and satisfied planners.
“Being the Project Manager for the implementation of Everysens in Tarmac has allowed me to see first hand the significant difference that adopting one platform has made in our business. Change is a hard thing to embed and I’m thrilled that we’ve been able to work with their team to drive this positive change for the future.”
Dean Hindle, Rail Operations Manager, Tarmac
Another key moment of the event was the RailTech Awards ceremony, which spotlighted the companies that achieved milestones in their digitalization journey with Everysens. Three distinctions were awarded:
- START – for outstanding onboarding and rapid adoption, awarded to Renault Group, a global automotive manufacturer. Everysens supports Renault Group in digitizing its outbound rail flows in Morocco by providing real-time visibility on wagon availability and departures. With a large and fast-moving supply chain, Renault leverages Everysens’ TVMS to streamline communication with railway undertakers, automate transport documentation, and ensure that each train leaves with the right capacity.
- SCALE – for demonstrable operational impact and performance gains, awarded to Roquette, a leading provider of plant-based ingredients, excipients and pharmaceutical solutions. Roquette uses Everysens to bring structure, transparency, and performance measurement to its European rail operations. By consolidating planning, tracking, and analytics into one platform, Roquette gains a full view of cycle times, wagon rotation, and service performance. This collaboration enables Roquette to scale digital processes across several factories, turn data into operational decisions, and measure the impact on reliability.
- GROW – for delivering sustainable, long-term ROI, awarded to LAT Nitrogen (groupe Agrofert), a leading European provider of nitrogen-based products in the fertilizer and industrial chemical market. Everysens began its collaboration with LAT Nitrogen, supporting the optimization of complex cross-border rail flows and improving wagon productivity. Thanks to measurable gains in visibility, turnaround times, and overall fleet efficiency, the project has since expanded to group level within Agrofert. Today, Everysens helps harmonize rail processes across sites, anticipate shortages, and secure stable transport capacity during seasonal peaks.
